Self-Portrait as Cleopatra

2021. Acrylic & tempera on cardboard. 30″ x 40″ (76.2 x 101.6 cm)

Inspired by the art of the Renaissance, this work carries the symbolism of a flower bouquet and a snake. The irony and theatrical aesthetics. Pointillism and reversed perspective. I could call any of my work a self-portrait. As well as this work is the result of emotional experiences brought by everyday life. Here I try to rethink, reconstruct my feelings to another level, sublimate something almost quotidian into a work of art.
