Artist

Maxim Bondarenko, based in Sacramento CA, is an artist who creates paintings, drawings, and mixed media pieces. He uses color, texture, and composition to create a space where objects are transformed and their aesthetics become symbolic.

He mixes post-impressionistic techniques with elements of magic realism and surrealism in his oil paintings. By using different textures, he attempts to express various spiritual and emotional states of the objects and their environment.

In mixed media artworks, through careful technical manipulations on cardboard and paint, he strives to create a fresh yet ancient and timeless feel to his artwork. His current art philosophy and techniques are the result of focusing on the Culture of a Stroke and experimenting with “oldened” textures.

I also used quite iconoclastic Abstract Suprematism direct approach in building forms and complex nuanced work with 'primal' colors. I don't know about you, but my feed is full of obnoxiously vulgar content that I didn't ask for, I didn't subscribe to. But it is still imposed on me and I hаtе that. But clearly it's not art. Art should be banished or at least restricted! Like: "You still can be here, but remember who you are!"⁠

I love flowers so much! They are always the symbol of something else: Thoughts. Unconditional love. Freedom. Memory. Kindness. Queerness.
I don't know how to decode this painting. Those things that I wanted to convey have left, and I don't remember them. Something else has taken their place. The vase still has three faces. But also, the mask lies on the glass table. I wanted to render that table with Art Deco facets, but it became almost a sign, a symbol. As usual, I used Reverse Perspective, like in Russian icons, to reflect the transcendence of the scene. I decided not to overthink. It's already full of meanings.
